Modern Office Standards: Poland 2009

Rolfe Judd and CBRE Poland have launched the Modern Office Standards: Poland (MOSP), which defines the common standards for office space in Poland.

MOSP establishes 20 key office quality indicators which together with location criteria from a new categorisation of office standards . The document clarifies for the first time in Poland what is meant by the terms Class A or B office space. The publication is a culmination of a wide range of views on internal climate definition, areas of office measurement, façade design, raised floor requirements and other office design parameters.

Rolfe Judd and CBRE conducted the research through interviews with a large number of major developers in Poland and carefully recorded these to ensure the outcome was an objective reflection of the requirements in the Polish market.

The document has been compiled with the intention that it will be revised and updated as the market, technology and best practice in office design develops.

The MOSP document was officially launched on the 24th of September 2009 in Warsaw and is available on the website www.mosp.pl

Karol Klin, Director of Office Department at CB Richard Ellis Poland, said:
“Idea of preparing such document was born last year during a meeting with Rolfe Judd. It was created by brain storming session based on very intensive discussion about what is standard and was is not a standard in terms of quality brand new office buildings. Then we decided to gather as well developer’s, investors and architecture points of view and our own experiences aiming to create one “manual” for all parties acting in the commercial property market in Poland. It is important to underline that from advisors point of view we now have very useful tool for new clients who are opening business in Poland and also for clients who are active on market but would like to raise their service on better quality in terms of managing or acquiring commercial office space.”

Matthew Williams, Director – Architecture at Rolfe Judd, said:
“Modern Office Standards: Poland was created to help our clients create great office buildings that can successfully compete in the international office market. The guide is aspirational and should help developers drive quality as well as respond to new challenges such as the need for carbon reduction”
