Green Corner - Faster than fast, quicker than quick

Warsaw, 24th February 2011 – Skanska Property Poland would like to announce that its newest Warsaw’s project has obtained valid building permit and LEED pre-certification.

Green Corner will be located at the corner of Chłodna and Wronia streets and will provide 27,500 sq m of class A office and retail space when it is completed in Q4 2012. The construction works have already started and the general contractor is Skanska S.A.
Green Corner will have seven overground floors, and will provide 265 parking spaces, located in the underground parking area. The building will also provide convenient underground parking stalls for bicycles. Green Corner was designed by Michał Nocuń and his team of the MW Projekt Biuro Projektowe sp. z o.o.

Green Corner is registered under the LEED Green Building Rating System seeking Platinum Certification. It is internationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED certification helps reducing operating costs, improves indoor environmental performance and lowers the building environmental impacts. The rating system addresses such areas as: rational use of materials and resources, location, indoor environmental quality and waste minimization among others.

Grzegorz Strutyński, Regional Director at Skanska Property Poland said: ‘Green Corner will be the first in Warsaw to receive the U.S. Green Buildings Council's Platinum (USGBC) rating for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, the highest level of certification. Energy efficiency and environmental responsibility, that is what it is all about. We wanted to show we could bring it up to the “greenest” of 2011 standards. Occupying green building is simply a smart business decision as it creates a better, more friendly working environment for employees. Green Corner has not only an innovative design, it is also the Warsaw’s first office building to reach the USGBC's highest rating! It is also prime example of Skanska’s green policy.’
